What Is Prius 2 3 4 5 November 21, 2021 Joined: Jan 2, 2012 4 1 0 Location: Texas Vehicle: Other Non-Hybrid Model: N/A Hi there - I'm researching the 2011 Prius (regular Prius, not the V wagon)....and would like to ask folks on this forum if they can answer this question. As far as the INTERIOR trim appearance/materials............is there any noticeable/obvious difference here between the II vs III vs IV trim levels? (have seen other makes/models of cars where the trim level makes a big difference....but after reading the ebrochure on the toyota website....I really couldn't get a clear answer to this question..........and the pictures on the site surely didn't answer it for me) Thanks in advance You should've not posted this in the Prius v forum then. Toyota has gone w/spelling out the numbers (e.g. Two, Three, etc.) instead of Roman numerals. There should be no difference in terms of interior appearance and materials between Two and Three. (I've looked over the matrix below before and was helping somebody car shop for an '11 Prius Two and Three recently, concluding a/a purchase of a Three on Friday.) As for Four, that comes w/leather seats whereas Two and Three have cloth interiors. You'll notice this at http://www.toyota.com/prius-hybrid/features.html, if you click on INTERIOR. http://web.archive.org/web/20100128...a/toyota-announces-prices-for-2010-89249.aspx was a great matrix (but the prices are old and USB support isn't mentioned). Unfortunately, archive.org is having some trouble. Joined: Jan 2, 2012 4 1 0 Location: Texas Vehicle: Other Non-Hybrid Model: N/A Thanks Cwerdna - your answer helps. I should have been a bit more clear. It seems to me after looking on the toyota site - that I could build a Prius "three" and get Leather/NAV/XM radio on the car (my 3 "must-have's")....so didn't know really why one would go to the "four" if you can get these things on the "three". Joined: Jan 2, 2012 4 1 0 Location: Texas Vehicle: Other Non-Hybrid Model: N/A Check it out yourself if you don't believe me. If you build a 2011 Prius "three"...under the OPTIONS selections...there is one option as follows: L2 - Leather Interior Upgrade ($1399) Now I agree this could be a dealer-installed leather....but it doesn't say that anywhere I can see. Joined: Aug 26, 2010 4,294 2,319 33 Location: Texas Vehicle: 2015 Prius Model: Four To clarify, it is port or dealer installed. Port refers to the make ready location for your Toyota Distribution Region. So technically not factory. It doesn't show up for me using the 94087 zip code. But it does if I choose 75353. It likely is due to regional differences and what models are available in each. Interesting... Also, for TX, the build your Toyota page looks TOTALLY different than the one I'm brought to for 94087. efusco Moderator Emeritus Staff Member Joined: Nov 26, 2003 19,890 1,167 9 Location: Nixa, MO Vehicle: 2004 Prius Model: N/A I think you're also not getting 3 door smart key with the three--something I think is well worth the extra cost. Don't forget about the nice leather wrapped steering wheel only available as oem on the Four (IV) adn Five (V). You'll love the three door SKS! Joined: Aug 26, 2010 4,294 2,319 33 Location: Texas Vehicle: 2015 Prius Model: Four Some regions do not offer. Individual dealers have outside installers available if they choose to. Also, if the 2011's are like the 2010's the interior A pillar material will be light grey regardless of seating color and package choice. Just thought I'd throw that in for confusion. But it would be sweet because he'd get something like leather, and 3 door SKS. Hang out for a couple weeks and see if it's doable. 2012 Three should be a pretty good bang for the buck - costs ~ $500 less than 2011 Three w/nav and has 3 door SKS (but you lose the upgraded audio) NineScorpions Economy, Meet Style!! Joined: Nov 12, 2011 375 64 6 Location: Texas Vehicle: 2011 Prius Model: Three Yes you can get factory leather on a 2011 three...as my car has it. Perhaps it was previously ordered that way and ended up not getting bought...I do not know. I was considering multiple three's with leather during my purchase. To see so multiple in my searching, it was indicating that they ae building some with the options up front...I do not see the dealers receiving cars and then upgrading at will, but then again I really do not know. The missing leather item I believe would be the wrapped wheel as mentioned. I would like that...but the non-leather when is quite fine for me. And agreed on the smart key...I would like to have the three door key system in which you need to buy a four to get. Lastly, if you are big into navigation and headunit features such as iPod...I would look into one that does not have the nav receiver and then purchase an aftermarket one that you can find examples of in the electronics forum. The factory nav/head unit and iPod control software is quite poor in my opinion. It must be specific to your region (and unavailable in my region) as leather's not listed until you go to Four at http://web.archive.org/web/20090609...a/toyota-announces-prices-for-2010-89249.aspx. It also listed as - for Three under Toyota Prius Hybrid - 2011 Models: Prius Two, Prius Three, Prius Four, Prius Five if you go to Interior. It's also unavailable if you select Build Your Prius, put in 94087 zip and select Three. When I put in a random Texas zip code earlier, the build page that came up was totally different page comes up and yes, leather ends up being available as an option. I stumbled across a Toyota region map at Toyota Prius Hybrid - 2011 Models: Prius Two, Prius Three, Prius Four, Prius Five. FWIW, those in Hawaii get differently equipped Priuses than most of us. If you purchased your Prius from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisana, Arkansas or Mississippi it is a GST vehicle. The option code is L2. Leather is not a factory option from either TMS or GST. If your Prius 2 or 3 came with leather it was definitely port or dealer installed, not factory. The 2011 4 will have the following over the 3. 1) Water repellent front side glass 2) Factory leather with heated seats and power lumbar 3) 3 door SKS 4) Leather wrapped steering wheel 5) Plasma Cluster air filtration 6) Auto dimming rear view mirror with homelink The autodimming mirror can be added to the 3 as a dealer or port option (option code GC).
