I think this is i of the best Jamie'southward cookbooks. Perfect for people that would similar to have a dwelling house cooked dinner/tiffin but do not care to spend too much fourth dimension in the kitchen cooking or, worse, washing dishes. I review cookbooks after I try at least 10 recipes but with this i I probably made more than 20.

As the name suggests, each recipes uses five ingredients (expect for staples such a vinegar, oil, salt, pepper) and are very easy to brand. Fifty-fifty though there are so few ingredients at that place isn't a

I remember this is one of the best Jamie'southward cookbooks. As with all Jamie'southward books, the ideas and concepts make this more than just a recipe book. He encourages thinking out of the box, with a focus on good quality ingredients and flavourful herbs. Adding the nutritional information for each dish is also another marvelous way in which Jamie makes us aware of what we're putting into our bodies. As a mother and home-cook, I appreciate this information immensely. I liked this volume very much, yet I have i criticism and that is that the ingredients are n Equally with all Jamie'south books, the ideas and concepts brand this more than just a recipe volume. He encourages thinking out of the box, with a focus on good quality ingredients and flavourful herbs. Adding the nutritional data for each dish is also some other marvelous style in which Jamie makes u.s. enlightened of what we're putting into our bodies. Equally a female parent and home-cook, I appreciate this information immensely. I liked this book very much, yet I have one criticism and that is that the ingredients are not easily or widely bachelor everywhere. I am able to substitute some, merely then it becomes a whole other dish. So it's not a total fail, because I am still sticking to his basic concept. But I do wish the ingredients in the book were readily bachelor here. In terms of presentation, this book is a winner. It'south vivid and fresh and the pictures are superb. I especially like the inclusion of Jamie's 5 kids in the book's dedication, referred to as his v favourite ingredients. ...more than

I hate to say it, just this may be his best volume notwithstanding. For me personally, I like the Superfood books the best, but for an alrounder that has appeal to all walks of life, 5 Ingredients is a cracker.
Just the layout alone is enough to get four stars; for its simplicity and its accessibility.
Photos of the 5 ingredients you need are shown down the side of each recipe and the recipes are not complicated, which is great for a lot of people who don't want to spend hours in the kitchen doing prep before you east

I got this for myself for Christmas and have already cooked from it. It isn't going to exist the but Oliver volume I cook from, as sometimes I feel similar doing tons of prep beforehand in order to get the better flavoured dish. ie in other Oliver cookbooks he has you making the spice paste, in five Ingredients he has you buying the premade spice paste.
Doing spice mixes, spice pastes and marinades yourself instead of buying them in jars always makes for a nicer repast, merely when I am in a hurry or don't desire to be slaving over a stove, the five Ingredients volume will be what I reach for.

I'chiliad obsessed with this book! Jamie Oliver knows his ingredients and he knows flavour profiles like no other! With as little equally 5 ingredients per dish, I find myself whipping up some pretty tasty stuff!

The layout of this volume is beautiful! I could requite iv stars for the layout alone with the big and assuming colours and the piece of cake to understand ingredients listing and method for cooking.

My merely gripe with this book is that not all the ingredients are readily

I'm obsessed with this book! Jamie Oliver knows his ingredients and he knows flavour profiles like no other! With every bit fiddling as 5 ingredients per dish, I find myself whipping upwardly some pretty tasty stuff!

The layout of this book is beautiful! I could give 4 stars for the layout lonely with the large and bold colours and the easy to understand ingredients list and method for cooking.

My only gripe with this book is that non all the ingredients are readily available in local supermarkets (Singapore) and I have to source for them via redmart online. It would accept been useful if Jamie Oliver had included replacements or variants of difficult to find ingredients.

Nevertheless, that doesn't deter from the fact that this book is amazing. It definitely motivates me to melt more as I get hands discouraged by complex recipes with a neverending list of ingredients. This book nevertheless is fool-proof and everything in it is simplified and laid out perfectly in a fashion that even a kitchen klutz like me can understand. Since the dishes are and so simplified, yous tin can even put your own spin on information technology and experiment with additional ingredients!

I am loving this cookbook. Everything I've tried so far has worked perfectly, and has been delicious and satisfying. The dishes have also been quick and easy and artistic, and therefore don't feel similar a brunt to take on at the wrong end of the working day. They are also (so far!) quite healthy in terms of what I demand right now, and then that takes some stress out of the whole deal.

Each recipe does indeed feature five ingredients, no more and no less. I like this straightforward approach to combining

I have read through this entire book and take tried about fifteen recipes (some several times already) and only found one that I did non enjoy immensely. Everything is easy to follow and with but v ingredients you don't need a massive stocked pantry or extensive range of kitchen appliances to back y'all up.

My merely problem with the book is that some of the ingredients can only be found in specialty stores in the USA. In the U.k., supermarkets acquit a much larger range and variety of products than their

I have read through this entire volume and have tried well-nigh 15 recipes (some several times already) and only found one that I did not savour immensely. Everything is easy to follow and with just v ingredients y'all don't need a massive stocked pantry or extensive range of kitchen appliances to back yous up.

What a cute cookbook! It is obvious it was well idea out before it was written.

Half term please which assisted in making my charges aka play neices and nephews, quiet in the kitchen. Great style to get the childrena and adults involved without a lot of headaches and screaming tantrums (adults thats you lot).

Every single recipe includes the phrase "flavour to perfection with ocean salt and pepper." The recipes that are edible are so-then at best, and the worst ones are terrible. There are far, far superior books for people looking for quick, simple meals. A thorough disappointment. Several of the recipes are missing ingredients that would vastly improve them if not for the arbitrary number 5. I love Jamie Oliver's style of cooking. Great photography, piece of cake recipes. But another European book where inexpensive and abundant ingredients that are expensive and harder to find where I live. However, I am expecting to utilize this book every bit there are plenty of fast and piece of cake recipes to choose from.

This volume is my new best friend! I'm not great in the kitchen and I don't have a lot of money to spend on food but with this volume all my meals are full of season, easy to cook and are safely in my budget. I would highly recommend this to everyone!

I don't recollect I've read a Jamie Oliver cookbook before, and I'one thousand sad I started with this one. He's obviously got talent to have gotten where he did, but this book was really disappointing. Not simply is it disappointing as someone who must be gluten gratuitous and tries to be vegan--I counted no more than than 10 recipes in hither that would piece of work for me, and not all of those were highly-seasoned--only three of the recipes actually interested me, and information technology turns out one of those is as well complicated for me to make. But a I don't think I've read a Jamie Oliver cookbook before, and I'yard sad I started with this ane. He's apparently got talent to accept gotten where he did, merely this book was really disappointing. Not merely is it disappointing as someone who must be gluten free and tries to be vegan--I counted no more than 10 recipes in here that would work for me, and not all of those were highly-seasoned--simply 3 of the recipes actually interested me, and it turns out 1 of those is too complicated for me to make. But also, it's disappointing for the fact that I like 5 ingredient cookbooks for their promise of simplicity--limited ingredients advise to me also accessibly ingredients and reasonably simple prep. Only this book doesn't actually offering those. I haven't got a free standing mixer, and don't know where I'd discover kicap mani, or chili jam, or clotted cream, or firm blackness pudding or balti curry paste, or any of the other obscure (presumably common British) ingredients required. Oliver doesn't offer substitutions for whatever of the more obscure ingredients, nor any context for or explanation of the recipes, aside from some very minimalist directions. There were very specific names for dishes, similar Buddy's Flapjack Biscuits or Spicy 'Njuda Vongole or St. Clements Polenta Biscuits that felt like there was a story or some other context behind them that might have added to the interest of the recipe.
Instead, in exchange for 5 ingredient recipes (that still call for additional ingredients, similar olive oil and salt and pepper in the directions), we get lists of sometimes extremely obscure ingredients, and directions that seem cumbersome, with requirements for advanced kitchen equipment. I should have known better when the cover of a cookbook, instead of featuring nutrient in any way, merely has a laughing picture of the chef sitting at a clean counter. Instead I was lured in by the back cover's hope of "quick and easy nutrient". which was a lie. I probably won't ever try any of these recipes. I'm merely glad I borrowed this from the library, so I tin render information technology without a loss to my wallet.

I liked the premise of this cookbook that you lot tin cook hands at home with five ingredients. The thing is that not included in every recipe was the improver of some items you lot only demand to stock in your pantry as default, some of which aren't usual items I'd see in mine since they'd never get used. The other thing that was the use of premise sauces and chutneys to complete recipes instead of making them from scratch, though those do lend themselves to the thought that cooking doesn't have to exist complic I liked the premise of this cookbook that y'all can cook easily at abode with five ingredients. The thing is that not included in every recipe was the addition of some items you just demand to stock in your pantry every bit default, some of which aren't usual items I'd see in mine since they'd never get used. The other affair that was the utilize of premise sauces and chutneys to complete recipes instead of making them from scratch, though those exercise lend themselves to the idea that cooking doesn't have to be complicated.

I tin can't say I have really finished this book as I haven't tried everything just after having a get at 3 dishes I feel I tin offer an opinion. At start I was bellyaching equally there were so many ingredients, sauces and herbs, that I did not take in my cupboard. Then, out of the 2 savoury dishes I tried, one was a success and the other a disaster. I did try a sweet recipe which is succulent but I don't accept a food processor so had to mix by hand.
I have marked out recipes that I recollect I can do just the

This was my first Jamie Oliver cookbook, and I can't use it... grrr

Information technology is wonderfully washed! Who doesn't honey "5 ingredient" cooking? I honey the nutritional breakup at the finish of every recipe, but unfortunately, the "fat" content of nearly of the recipes exceed my "daily" fatty requirements, much less just for 1 meal. :(

Perhaps, sometime in the future, I can sit downwardly and work out some substitutes to bring the fat content downward! *grin*
